KEEPING OUR BODIES HEALTHY(GODS PRIDE)

Our bodies are temples for the Holy Spirit; this is a scripture that is chanted even by small children. But am not sure the reality of this scripture has really dawn on us or let’s put it this way this word has not become flesh and is dwelling among us. Why did I say so, the body is more to it than just a physical body on which we wear our apparels, if we can give our bodies the attention we give to it like we dress it, get this point straight am not against good dressing am actually an advocate of good dressing as it pass information on how you feel about people around you, but am going further to talk about the body as a physiological entity.

images-9The body is made up of millions of cells, grouped together; these organs form systems of the body function.Thus the heart, blood vessels and blood form the cardiovascular system. The lungs, our passages with the respiratory muscles form the respiratory system and so on.images-1

From the way we eat to what we eat to the jobs we do, the creams we use, to how we the creams we use, to how we take drugs even prescribed by medical practitioners goes a long way to affect our bodies.images

  • You have to value your body and as such handle it as a precious gift from God to you.
  • What you eat, how you eat is also important our body thrive better with natural foods, this is for the attention of people that work very hard and hardly have time to eat well but go on junk foods. You do more harm than good to your body going for fast food than naturally processed cooked foods as most of this fast foods release free radicals into your bodies. If (better if your last meal for the day is 6pm) but this is not a rule you can get to find out how your body works so you can relate to it as such. When you eat late, when your body should be resting you are still; working your digestive system through the night and that also can be deleterious to your health. Increase dietary fibre intake as this aids digestion restricts animal products in adults.
  • cardio-exerciseFind time to exercise if a day, nature teaches us some things in wisdom, your car drives you, you also find time to service it for proper functionality and performance so also the body for proper functionality and performance of your body you need to take time to exercise thus helps for proper flow of blood and when you exercise you get it more oxygen into your body than you do in normal breathing thus help to burn down a lot of stored fats in the body which would do more harm than good when stored.images-13

The other point is medicines, how do you use medicines/medicines do us a lot of good when taken at the right time and in the right way. Drugs (medicine) abuse is on the toll, find time to see a doctor for general check up. Do not form the habit of dropping two pieces of panadol (paracetamol) when you feel any little pain as harmless as paracetamol looks it has accumulative effect on the liver as a side effect so does other drugs. It will be good to stress here that every drug (medicine) is a poison and has side effects, so you have to be very cautious in using them. They take care of your ailments but also exert their effects that most times are not good to your body that you want to keep healthy. It will be nice to contact a doctor, each time you feel uneasiness in your body that gives you concern.

It is better to handle your body non-pharmacologically i.e. weight reduction, exercise, salt restriction, smoking and drinking can be deleterious to health. The Pharmacological aspect comes in when your doctor has investigated and seen that you need them.

Lastly, the bible says every other sin is without the body but the sin of fornication and adultery is with the body a causes a lot of harm to the body, have u noticed that people that involve in these age faster. Other way of caring for your body is keep away from the sin of fornication when a single and cleaving to your partner only when married.

When we strive to stay healthy, the holy spirit is happier working through our temples, sometimes we are so eager to work for God but we have sick bodies and the holy spirit knows that he cannot work through such a body if not he will kill it in no time.

Healthy bodies are a joy for God to work through, Paul said above all things i wish you prosper and be in good health even as thy soul prospers, there is no limit to what the Holy Spirit can do through a person who has a healthy body, a sound mind and his spirit is in top relationship with God. Let’s strive to keep a healthy body, sound mind a spirit that is withoutspot, blemish or wrinkle such blesses God and gives him pleasure.
